A thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb) test can help diagnose autoimmune conditions that cause thyroid damage such as Hashimoto's.

Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) is an enzyme that helps the thyroid gland control energy levels, metabolism, weight, mood, and other important mind and body processes. Tests to detect thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) — immune proteins that attack the thyroid — may help uncover the causes of thyroid problems and diagnose conditions like Hashimoto's disease and Graves’ disease.

Note: This test may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin. Cease biotin supplementation at least 72 hours prior to blood draw.
