• Galectin-3 with BNP

Galectin-3 is a novel biomarker used in the diagnosis of Heart Failure (HF). Galectin is a b-galactoside binding lectin implicated in inflammation, cell proliferation, and tumor development. Recently up-regulation of Galectin-3 has been linked to the development of HF.

Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) is a hormone secreted by the heart in response to ventricular stretching, and is a key indicator of heart failure and left ventricular hypertrophy. Screening for both biomarkers can improve diagnostic accuracy.
