OmegaCheck™, a specialized blood test designed at Cleveland HeartLab, assesses relative cardiovascular risk based on polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) status. Additional tests are included to determine levels of specific Omega-3/6 fatty acids. OmegaCheck™ measures the amount of fatty acids in red blood cells (RBCs), while most other omega-3 tests look at fatty acid levels in plasma. This provides a more accurate representation of omega-3/6 fatty acids levels over the last 2-3 months and is not skewed by recent omega-3/6 intake.
