• Progesterone

Progesterone is a hormone that has powerful effects on sexual health, sleep quality and libido. Progesterone is a precursor of testosterone and helps balance estrogen.
In men, low progesterone levels may cause a low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, tiredness, weight gain, loss of bone and muscle, or depression.
In women, low progesterone levels may cause irregular periods, abnormal bleeding, miscarriage, low sex drive, weight gain, or gallbladder problems. Rises in progesterone levels during the mid-luteal phase is an indicator of healthy ovulation.

Note: This test may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin. Cease biotin supplementation at least 72 hours prior to blood draw.
